Dichondra
(Dichondra micrantha)

Dichondra is a perennial lawn plant or ground cover plant with small round leaves like miniature water lilies. It spreads by rooting surface runners. In shade, with large quantities of fertilizer and water, it can grow to 15 cm (6 in.) tall and requires frequent mowing. In sun and areas subjected to foot traffic, it stays low and seldom needs mowing. It is often seeded in a mixture with lawn grass.

Prepare the soil as for a lawn. Sow seed in April or May and provide adequate moisture for good germination.
